In The Media: Anderson Overland Podcast - Our Rebelle Rally Journey
Jess² reRouting
4/1/2025
We recently had the pleasure of joining the Anderson Overland Podcast to talk all things Rebelle Rally, off-road navigation, and our journey as a team. If you haven’t checked out this podcast yet, it’s a must-listen for overlanding enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and anyone who loves a great off-road story.
How It All Started
During our conversation with host Joey Anderson, we shared how Jess² reRouting came to be. Jessi first competed in the Rebelle Rally in 2020, while I, Jessica, entered the competition in 2023. That year, we found ourselves competing against each other and quickly took notice of each other’s skills and approaches to navigation. A chance coffee meetup after the rally turned into a conversation about teaming up—and before we knew it, we were refreshing the registration page to sign up for Rebelle 2025 together.
Why Rebelle?
For both of us, Rebelle is more than just a competition. It’s a challenge that pushes us beyond our limits, testing our navigation, driving, and endurance. Navigating purely by map and compass in remote terrain isn’t just a skill—it’s an art, and it’s one that we thrive on. The Rebelle isn’t about speed; it’s about precision, patience, and strategy, and that’s what keeps us coming back for more. Training in Our Backyard
Being based in Oceanside, California, we’re fortunate to have access to diverse training grounds. From the dunes to rocky trails, we are preparing ourselves for the wide range of terrains that the Rebelle Rally throws at us. Off-roading has been a passion for both of us since childhood—whether it was rock-crawling with family or embarking on solo overland adventures, we’ve spent years honing our skills.
The Jeep That Will Take Us There
Our trusty companion for the rally? A 2018 Jeep JL Rubicon, ARC Trooper, built to handle whatever the Rebelle throws our way. With modifications that enhance capability while staying within rally regulations, we’re confident that this machine will help us tackle everything from deep sand to rugged mountain passes.
What’s Next?
As we ramp up our training for Rebelle 2025, we’re continuing to refine our strategy, enhance our navigation skills, and prepare for the mental and physical endurance required for the competition. The support from the off-road and overlanding community, including platforms like Anderson Overland Podcast, fuels our drive to compete at our highest level.
A huge thanks to the Anderson Overland team for having us on the show! If you haven’t tuned in yet, check out our episode and follow along on our journey as we prepare for Rebelle 2025.
With gratitude and grit,
Jessica - Navigator - Jess² reRouting
