In The Media: The Average Overlanders Podcast - Navigating the Road Less Traveled

We recently had the pleasure of joining Jared and Ben on The Average Overlanders Podcast to share our off-roading journey, talk about Team Jess² ReRouting, and chat about all the wild adventures we’re diving into. It was such a blast to sit down and reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next.

Project Wrecker: From Concept to Competition

One of the highlights we talked about was Project Wrecker, Jessi’s two-door Jeep JK. This beast has quite the history, previously owned by the one and only Steven Schofield. Now, it’s getting a full makeover with an incredible roll cage designed by Chris Allen. The goal? To compete in WE Rock competitions and tackle technical rock-crawling courses.

We are absolutely stoked about this project. The metallic gray paint (shoutout to the Lamborghini-inspired Gregorian Links shade) combined with a Mojito Green roll cage makes Wrecker look just as fierce as it’s going to perform.

Getting those 42-inch tires fitted means it’s all about function meeting style. We can't wait to see how Wrecker handles those gnarly rock trails!

Back at It for Rebelle Rally 2025

Of course, we couldn’t chat without diving into our next big challenge – the Rebelle Rally 2025. After Jessica placed fourth as rookies in 2023, and Jessi completed her second Rebelle in 2023 with a different teammate, we are joining together this year as a new team, more determined, pushing harder, and aiming higher.

The lessons we learned during our first run in Johnson Valley a few weeks ago were invaluable. From strengthening our communication to mastering those tricky navigation tasks, every moment made us sharper and more connected as a team.

Team Jess² ReRouting is all about bold hearts, gritty minds, and united strength. With each mile we cover, we’re proving to ourselves just how far we can push our limits. This time, we’re aiming to be even more strategic and focused. And let’s be honest – we’re still going to have a ton of laughs along the way.

Living the Off-Road Life

When we’re not navigating dunes or crawling rocks, we’re still fully immersed in the off-road world. From representing our sponsors at events to tackling trails with our friends and families, it’s a lifestyle we live and breathe.

Jessi’s Jeep, Arc Trooper, may be getting most of the spotlight these days, but Jessica’s trusty Toyota 4Runner remains a staple of her adventures. Jessica's husband’s Jeep Rubicon also gets plenty of trail time, making our households truly invested in off-roading.

We also chatted on the podcast about how mentorship has been a huge part of our growth. The off-road community is packed with people who are always willing to lend a hand or share knowledge, and we’re so grateful to be part of it. If you’re ever curious about getting started in off-roading or even competing, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re all about encouraging others to find their grit and go for it.

Countdown to Rebelle Rally

With just over 190 days until the next Rebelle Rally, our training is well underway. From detailed map study sessions to desert navigation practice, we’re leaving no stone unturned. We’re also focusing on staying mentally strong, knowing that resilience and quick decision-making are just as important as knowing how to plot the perfect bearing.

Our teamwork continues to grow with every training day, and that trust we’re building will undoubtedly be our greatest asset on the course. Plus, we’re so excited to see some familiar faces back at the rally and cheer on other competitors!
