Why $24,150? A Transparent Look at Our Rebelle Rally Budget

As we prepare for the 2025 Rebelle Rally, there’s one thing that stands out: the incredible cost of this adventure. We’ve set a total fundraising goal of $24,150, and today, I want to break down exactly what goes into making this experience a reality. Whether it’s supporting our team with a donation or sharing our story, every contribution matters.
The Big Picture: Why $24,150?
Reaching the starting line of the Rebelle Rally requires more than just grit and determination—it also requires substantial financial support. Our goal covers everything from registration fees to training, vehicle prep, and the tools we need to compete. With the help of our amazing community, we’re striving to make this all possible.
1. Rally Registration – $15,600 (64.60%)
The largest portion of our goal goes toward the entry fee for the event, which covers essential services like base camps, safety services, mechanical support, water, food, and permitting fees (to see the full list, see the Rebelle page here). This is a vital part of our journey, ensuring we’re able to compete with the best and prepare for the challenges ahead.
2. Rebelle U Driver/Navigation Training – $2,600 (10.77%)
While optional, attending the Rebelle U 3-Day Navigation Course in June is our ideal training. This course includes a 2-Day Intensive (Friday and Saturday) and a 1-Day Rebelle Trials, offering an exact mock of the real rally experience. With top-notch instructors and hands-on practice in stunning terrain, this training would refine our skills, help break bad habits, and fully prepare us for the challenges ahead. It’s a crucial investment to ensure our success in the 2025 Rebelle Rally.
3. Fuel During Rally – $1,200 (4.97%)
Fuel is a vital part of the rally, and the costs for refueling add up quickly. Most of our fill-ups occur from tankers stationed out in the desert, either at base camp or during a long day of chasing checkpoints. These services tend to be more expensive due to the remote location. This cost is based on our previous year’s experience, and we’ve factored in fuel for the entire event to ensure we don’t face unexpected challenges.
4. Travel Expenses to & from Rally – $1,050 (4.35%)
Getting to and from the rally requires careful planning. Travel expenses, including gas, our 3rd teammate’s transport (the Jeep), and lodging, are essential. However, we won’t know the exact location of the start and end of the rally until just before the start date in October, which makes it challenging to book accommodations and plan logistics. This cost ensures we can reach the starting line prepared and ready, no matter where the rally takes us.
5. Mapping Tools, Camping Gear, Vehicle Tools – $1,500 (4.14%)
Having the right tools is critical. From navigation equipment to camping gear and vehicle maintenance tools, these essentials ensure we stay on track and in good shape throughout the rally. We’ve created an Amazon team wishlist, and we’ll continue to add items to it as we get closer to the rally start. If you’d like to see what’s currently on our list, you can check it out here.
6. Pre-Rally Maintenance – $1,500 (6.21%)
Before the event, we need to perform maintenance on our vehicle to ensure it’s in top condition. This budget will cover any upgrades or repairs necessary to make sure everything is running smoothly.
7. Required Tracking Equipment – $1,200 (4.97%)
Tracking equipment is essential for ensuring safety and providing necessary updates during the competition. This budget covers the devices that will track our progress and communicate our status to rally officials. It also allows you, our supporters, to watch our live progress during the rally, keeping you connected to our journey every step of the way. Why It’s Worth It
While the cost may seem overwhelming, the Rebelle Rally is an incredible opportunity for us to push our limits, gain valuable experience, and inspire others. It’s a chance to showcase the power of teamwork and what women in off-roading and navigation can achieve. The lessons we’ll learn, the relationships we’ll build, and the experiences we’ll gain will stay with us far beyond the rally itself.
